Common Questions

Not sure where to start?

We help route you to the right insurance path — employer benefits, individual and family coverage, Medicare, or supplemental insurance.

A carrier shows you its own plans. An independent broker compares plans across the carriers we represent — over 20 carriers compared instead of one — and explains which one fits your doctors, your prescriptions and your budget. You get the comparison first, then a recommendation, then the same team after you enroll.

No. Huhn Insurance is independent. We are appointed with multiple insurance carriers across Medicare, individual and family, employer benefits and supplemental coverage, so the recommendation is based on fit rather than on any one company's product line. When a different carrier fits better at renewal, we say so.

Four lines of coverage: employer benefits and group health for businesses, individual and family plans including ACA Marketplace coverage, Medicare (Original Medicare, Medigap, Medicare Advantage and Part D) and supplemental coverage: dental, vision, life, accident and disability. One licensed team handles all four, so a family, a business owner and a retiree can each call the same number.

No. We work with businesses, individuals, families and Medicare clients. Employers come to us for group health and employee benefits. Individuals and families come for Marketplace plans and subsidy checks. People turning 65 come for Medicare guidance, and many clients use more than one of those over the years as their situation changes.

Carriers build our commission into the plan, so you pay the same premium whether you enroll on your own or with us. Depending on the plan, we may be paid by the insurance carrier, by a client-paid fee, or by a mix of both. How we are paid is disclosed in writing up front.

You get a call or a reply within one business day. We ask what you need, confirm which path fits (employer benefits, individual and family, Medicare or supplemental) and explain your options in plain language. Then we compare plans across the carriers we represent, walk you to the right next step, and stay with you after you enroll.
